IMPHAL, Apr 16: Family members of Md Farooque Khan, 22, son of Badaruddin and Md Saddam, 23, son of Basiruddin of Lilong Kaleikhong who died at the hospital following an assault by locals of Sagaisabi on April 7 for allegedly trying to steal a two-wheeler today claimed the bodies of the two youth which had been lying at the RIMS morgue.
The families claimed the bodies following an understanding brought between the JAC and the Chief Minister last night.
Post mortem of the bodies was conducted today at the RIMS mortuary.
It is learnt that during the meeting last night, the CM had assured to book all the five individuals against whom FIR has been lodged in connection with the death of the two and to provide Rs 5 lakhs compensation to the bereaved families each.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated report, the body of Lalchuailo who was killed in an alleged gun fight between ZUF and the Army on April 11 at Tamenglong continues to remain unclaimed at the JNIMS morgue.
