IMPHAL, April 6: The BJP observed its 37th foundation day widely in the State today.
The main observation was held at the party’s Nityaipat Chuthek office with BJP Manipur in charge MP Prahlad Singh Patel attending the function.
Speaking at the observation Patel said BJP workers should maintain the party ideology and follow the party leaders considering development of the State and the country.
At the same time, the party leaders should reciprocate the respect shown by their workers, he added.
Patel also said that the workers should follow the guidance of the present president of the party to strengthen the party in the State before the 2017 State Assembly election.
He said the BJP’s ideology is to serve the country.
Party workers should also attend party functions in their respective mandal office or the headquarters, he said, and added that if the workers fail to attend the party function, how will they be able to understand the party fully.
He further elaborated that workers should understand the difference between organisation politics and electoral politics.
Joining any political party is easy, he said however, anyone seeking membership in BJP should be ask why he wanted to join the party.
He further appealed to the BJP workers to observe Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s Birth Anniversary on April 14 and Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary on September 25.
In his speech, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba said the BJP was formed to work for the people of India.
Today, the party has completed 36 years of existence, he said.
Under the leadership of the national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP is today the largest political party in the world with over 11 crore members, he said.
He said that the recent budget of the BJP led government in the Centre has shown that it cares for women and poor farmers.
It had reflected huge funds for Agriculture and allied sectors, he said.
BJP Manipur general secretary (Administration) M Asnikumar said that the day is being observed everywhere in the State as in other parts of the country.
According to Asnikumar, the observation began simultaneously in 60 Mandal offices and 12 district headquarters today at 8am under the theme “Strong BJP, Strong India”.
He further appealed to the people to support the BJP.
The function was also attended by BJP MLAs Kh Joykishan and Th Bishwajit. Patel and Chaoba laid the others in paying floral tribute to portraits of Shyama Prashad Mukherjee and Pandit Din Dayal Upadhya.
