Handful of dissident allegedly hobnobbing with ministers

IMPHAL, April 3: In a dramatic turn of event to the prevailing imbroglio within the Congress party, incumbent ministers have allegedly bribed some of the dissidents MLAs in their favour in an attempt to sabotage the campaign of the pressure groups (dissidents).

According to a highly reliable source, the incumbent ministers were reportedly made to win over around 10 MLAs from the dissident camp to support their cause declaring that they were not part of the dissident group and continue to support the present ministry led by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.

It is further informed that the endorsement reportedly signed at the office chamber of the senior minister incharge of Law and Legislative Affairs, has been sent to the AICC leaders.

The sources alleged that the MLAs were promised with liberal of shares in various departments during the time of recruitments besides monetary support.

It may be mentioned that the newly appointed MPCC president, TN Haokip will leave Imphal for Delhi tomorrow along with Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, to meet AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and other party leaders, to resolve the pending re-shuffle issue, a pressure of the dissident group.
