SILCHAR, Apr 23 (JNN): Commemorating the 125th Khongjom Day observation, a large number of people offered floral tributes at the statue of Major General Paona Brajabasi at Silchar Airport Road, Assam today.
Members of Assam Manipuri Meira Paibi Lup (AMPAL), All Assam Manipuri Students’ Union (AAMSU), youth activist from Barak circle Seram Herajit and member of Paona Ningsinglup, Udharbond Kamini Singh were present at the observance function.
The day was also observed by AAMSU Hailakandi District Committee at Lawat Khampokpi wherein lights were lit up at the statue of Paona Brajabasi erected at the area.
The observance function was also attended by president of AAMSU Central Committee Pangambam Nilkanta; ex-teacher Raman Singha; teachers Kaijam Swapan, Pancham Singha and Prem Chandra Mangang.
