IMPHAL, Apr 12: In an act of bravery, a three-year-old boy saved a cousin aged around six from drowning in an under construction water tank by alerting family members.
The incident took place at Moirangthem Leikai, Moirang in Bishnupur district today around 2.30 pm.
The three-year-old has been identified as Moirangthem Sushanjit Singh son of M Suresh Singh while the six years old has been identified as Moirangthem Dhanaraj Singh son of M Dhanabir Singh.
The two children were playing nearby an under construction water tanker belonging to Tongbramm Bipin Singh of Moirangthem Leikai when Dhanaraj suddenly fell into the tanker.
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Sushanjit rushed to the residence of Dhanaraj and informed the latter’s mother M Gitbala Devi who then alerted nearby locals.
The locals rushed to the water taker and saved Dhanaraj from drowning.
