IMPHAL, Apr 9: Several organisations have announced their support to the 18-hour Thoubal district general strike called by the Popular Front of India, Manipur from Sunday midnight to 6pm of April 11, against the failure of the government to act against the police personnel involved in the assault of Md Atawar Rahman who had gone to buy items for his hardware shop on October 21, 2015.
The Diamond Youth Welfare Association Sangaiyumpham, Social Democratic Party of India and the All India Imams Council, Manipur State have issued separate press releases supporting the general strike.
