IMPHAL, April 17: Intending BJP candidate from Wangkhem Assembly constituency for the 2017 general election in the State today said that the coming together of people of the constituency especially the womenfolk to strengthen the BJP will bring about a change.
Speaking on the sideline of a one day political conference held at his residence today, Kadamjit said the conference was attended by womenfolk especially from the two polling stations of 32/17 and 32/18.
Kadamjit said he has already contested the State Assembly election three times but defeated every time.
However, since he joined the BJP, people have started endorsing him, he added.
He said womenfolk of home polling station gathered at his residence, which is a sign of the change coming in Wangkhem constituency.
He continued people have witnessed several developmental and welfare schemes taken up by the BJP led NDA government in the country. The main focus of the Centre is to help the poorer section of the society, who have been neglected by the Cognress earlier, he added.
The one day political conference was also attended by three women leaders Puyam Malika Wangkhem Meira Paibee president, and local women leaders Sigam Danatom Devi and Amibala Devi as presidium member respectively.
