IMPHAL, May 15: About 10,174 candidates appeared at the Manipur Civil Service Combined Examination conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission in 24 centres here for filing up 82 posts.
Today’s examination is a recruitment to fill up 13 posts for Manipur Civil Service-Grade-II, 16 posts for Manipur Police Service, 48 posts for sub deputy collector, four post for Manipur Secretariat Service and one post for election officer.
Among the 13 MCS-Grade II posts vacancy, four are reserved for scheduled tribe, one each for Meitei/Meetei and Meitei pangal under OBC and remaining seven for the general category. On the other hand, six of the 16 posts for Manipur Police Service are reserved for ST, two for OBC and eight for general category.
The 48 posts for sub-deputy collector has two reservations for SC, 12 for ST, six for Meetei/Meitei, three for Meitei Pangal, one for differently-abled persons and 25 for general category.
The four post of Manipur Secretariat Service/Section Officer have been restricted to general category candidates while the lone post for election officer have been reserved for Meetei/Meitei.
Shyam Lal Poonia, Secretary MPSC, said 10174 candidates appeared in the combined civil service examination conducted today across 24 examination centres. The total number of applications received was 11779 through empsconline.gov.in , out which 8042 are male candidates, he added.
A previous official order has reflected that during the processing of admit cards about 146 candidates did not confirm the online submission of applications. Further 329 candidates have uploaded the PRC but did not apply afresh in response to the commission notification on May 11, 2016.
