IMPHAL, May 15: The Joint Action Committee against Anti-Tribal Bills has sought the cooperation of the general public to its call for total shutdown in tribal areas of Manipur starting from midnight of May 16, 2016 till the midnight of May 18, 2016. In a press release, the JAC has informed that selected services and activities that have been exempted from the scope of the shut down in the interest of the general public are medical services including medical emergencies and check-ups, water supply, media houses, postal service, telecom, electricity, airport pickup and drop, ongoing exams (both students and teachers/invigilators), marriage ceremonies and pre-planned conferences.
