IMPHAL, May 20: The body of a male who was found in Nambul River at Sanjenbam, Samurou under Wangoi Police Station on May 15 evening has been claimed by the deceased’s family and the JAC formed in connection with the incident after performing post mortem examination at RIMS morgue today.
The deceased has been identified as Moirangmayum Chaoba Singh, 60 of Samurou Awang Leikai. He had remained traceless ever since he went out of his house on May 12 evening.
Reports said police have arrested the main accused in the case and also recovered the dress worn by the deceased and weapons used in the killing.
The accused is currently under police custody and interrogation is going on, it added.
