IMPHAL, May 22 : JAC Against the Misconduct of MPSC, 2016 has demanded re-conduct of Manipur Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination, 2016 held on May 15 last.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, JAC president Ayaam Rogendro said that the ambiguous instruction printed on the question booklet on negative marking created confusion to many candidates. He said that instruction number 9 printed on the front page of the question booklet stated that “There will be no penalty for wrong answers.” However, below this instruction on the same page, it was again printed that “There will penalty for wrong answers…”, he said. Rogendro further said that some invigilators told the candidates that there will be penalty for wrong answers while some other invigilators informed the candidates that there would not be penalty for wrong answers. In many centres, invigilators even refused to tell whether there would be penalty or not. As such, a large chunk of candidates did not attempt all the questions fearing penalty while many candidates attempted full marks as the invigilators told them that there would be no penalty, he said. Apart from this, four questions were wrong, he said. Saying that Civil Services Examination is one of the most important examinations, so MPSC must have avoided such goof-ups, Rogendro demanded reconduct of the examination. It may be mentioned that over 10,000 candidates appeared in 28 centres in the examination held on May 15.
