IMPHAL, May 24: “Government school teachers are qualified, but lack in spirit to compete with their counterparts in private schools,” Board of Secondary Education Manipur conducted High School Leaving Certificate Examination third topper Maibram Vasundhara at her residence.
In a brief chat with media persons at her Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai residence soon after the results were out this afternoon, Vasundhara said if the teachers and students of the government schools could realise their full potential then they would be equal with those of private schools.
She observed the government school students and teachers seem to lack confidence.
Vasundhara, a student of Little Flower School secured 569 out of 600 just one short of second topper Naorem Suzanna Devi who scored 570. She is daughter of Maibram Victor Singh and Kshetrimayum Ratna Devi.
Vasundhara also scored letter marks in all six subjects including Meetei Mayek, Mathematics, English, Science, Social Science and Higher Mathematics.
She said although she is satisfied with her marks, she will definitely try to get more in her higher secondary examination.
As for her study ritual, she said she studied at least 6-7 hours daily and always aimed to score above 95 percent.
Vasundhara said she will study science in her higher secondary and as for her future she will decide on it only after her class XII.
She further gave credit for her success to her parents, teachers, colleagues and well-wishers.
Both parents said they will allow Vasundhara to take up any decision she likes regarding her life and will not impose anything on her.
