BISHNUPUR, May 12: In support of the collective demand made by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) for introduction of ILPS in the State to monitor the ever increasing influx of migrants, students under the aegis of JCILPS Students’ Wing Bishnupur District formed a human chain at Nambol Bazar today.
Students of Bethel English High School, St John English High School, Brighter School Phoijing and T Doren Memorial Academy took part in the human chain formation.
They chanted slogans, “Lets save Manipur”, “Implement ILPS in Manipur”, “Stop outsiders from contesting in election’’, “Convert the three bills passed in the Assembly into act”, “We want ILP”, “Outsiders cannot become voters” etc.
The human chain stretched from Nambol Thongkhong to Manipur Rural Bank, Nambol Branch.
Vehicles coming along the Tiddim Road were made divert to Nambol Chingmang by passing through Nambol Bazar and Nambol Awang.
A team of district police headed by DSP (CDO) N John and SI TK Baite strictly monitored the agitation to thwart any untoward incidents.
