KOHIMA, May 23 (NEPS): President of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Dr. Shurhozelie dismissed the rumors that the tussle in the present political crisis, as well as the NPF in Nagaland, was between him and Neiphiu Rio, MP and former Chief Minister.
Talking to press here at the NPF Central Office on Monday, the NPF supremo, however, admitted that there were rumors that the real political power fight was between him and Rio. Such political rumors were there for quite some time created by some people, he said. He asserted that he had no “ill-feeling against him (Rio) and also I think no one was having any ill-feelings against him.”
On Rio’s denial of indulging in anti-party activities as alleged by the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of the NPF in their Show Cause notice served to him, Dr. Shurhozelie said the DAC of the party in their Show Cause notice pointed out his (Rio) anti-party activities. But Rio was silent on that, he said. Because when the anti-party activities were very obvious, it might be difficult for him to face it also, he added.
The NPF Chief, however, explained that serving a Show Cause notice to someone means a chance for him to explain. “If the reply to the Show Cause notice is satisfactory, the DAC will recommend accordingly,” he added.
