KANGPOKPI, May 26: In view of the proposed Blood Donation Camp scheduled to be held on May 28, 2016 at Kuki Inn Imphal, the KSO General Headquarters appeals to the JCILPS and CSOs to abandon any plan of bandh or agitation on the stipulated date.
Earlier the student body had postponed the Blood Donation Camp on account of the JCILPS 38 hrs total shutdown in the state.
Seiboi Haokip, General Secretary, KSO-GHQ said that the blood donation camp is being organized by the KSO Imphal Branch in collaboration with the IHBT, RIMS with the objective of augmenting and facilitating the blood bank of RIMS while adding that the student body will appreciate it very much if the CSOs could show a kind gesture by eschewing bandh or agitation on the stipulated date.
He continued that the event, which will be participated by more than 200 KSO volunteers and donors from all over the state and inaugurated by the Health & Family Welfare Minister, D.Korungthang.
Seiboi further noted that the KSO Imphal Branch not only attends to student’s welfare but also renders yeoman service to people in need of medical attention, especially poor and ignorant people who comes to Imphal for health treatment.
He also pointed out that patients who require blood transfusion and their families often faced problem for dearth of blood in the blood banks and in this kind of situation KSO executives had to run around in search of donors.
Therefore it is the intention of KSO to augment and facilitate the blood bank of hospitals so that these problems are averted, Seiboi said while adding that the proposed blood donation camp is one of the humanitarian efforts of the KSO to help build a more humane and charitable society.
Highlighting the rationale behind the proposed Blood Donation Camp, Seiboi divulged that the student body wants to have close rapprochement with hospital establishments as it has become the bounden duty of the KSO to help assist patients from hill areas in need of medical treatment in Imphal.
