BSIHNUPUR, May 14: Two personalities aged above 60 years, who have worked in the field of literature for more than 30 years were honoured with awards during a solemn function held in Bishnupur district today. The awards were presented by United Writers’ Forum Manipur (UWFM).
The function was graced by president of All Manipur United Clubs Organization (AMUCO) Dr Y Mani Khuman as chief guest; president of UWFM Dr NB Nongshaba and secretary of People’s Resource Development Association (PRDA) Bishnupur L Suranjoy Singh as guest of honour.
The recipients of the awards are lyricist of All India Radio (AIR) Imphal Dr Ranjit Mangang who received the Sahitya Ratana Award 2015 Title & Award given for every two years and writer N Nilakumari Devi of Kongba Nongthombam Leikai , who fetched Itomcha & Manimohon Literature Award 2015 donated by correspondent of Imphal Free Press Dr H Romen.
The Sahitya Ratana Award 2015 Title & Award which was presented to the recipient by Dr Mani Khuman carries a cash reward of Rs 3000, citation, trophy, memento and shawl while Itomcha & Manimohon Literature Award 2015 carries a citation, memento, shawl and trophy was presented to the recipient by secretary of PRDA L Suranjoy who attened the function as guest of honour.
