KOHIMA, Jun3 (NEPS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that they would like to have like-minded people from the Northeast to work for the overall development of the Northeast.

Talking to Press here at Kohima Raj Bhavan on Friday, Vinay Sahasrabudhe, Vice President of the National BJP said they recently formed North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) under the convenorship of Himanta Biswa Sarma to fight against the Congress in the region. They would have like-minded people to come together under the banner of NEDA not only to fight against the Congress regimes but also see that developmental activities take place in the region.

The National BJP leader was, however, unable to reply properly when asked as to why they would not go with NPF in the coming Manipur general elections while maintaining as an important ally of the NPF-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) in Nagaland. “Only convener of the NEDA, Himanta Biswa Sarma, will be able to answer this question,” he said.
