No let up in pro-ILPS movement

E-Front-__-ILP-735x400IMPHAL, Jun 21: Carrying on the popular movement for enforcement of ILPS or a similar mechanism in the State, different modes of protest demonstration including human chains were staged today along Tiddim Road between Nambol Oinam and Phubala.
Protest demonstrations were staged at Nambol Oinam, Yumnam Khunou, Keinou Keithel, Toupokpi, Bishnupur Keithel, Thinungei and Phubala.
Meira Paibi activists, local womenfolk as well as students took part in the protest demonstrations.
At the end of the protest demonstrations, protesters stood in rows and shouted many slogans in unison like “ILPS must be enforced in Manipur”, “A new Bill must be passed”, “Translate all the points agreed between the Government of Manipur and JCILPS into action”, “We condemn declaration of Kh Ratan as a wanted man”, “Declaration of Ratan as a wanted man cannot suppress the popular movement”, “Manipur is great” etc.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by JCILPS informed that similar protest demonstrations would be staged tomorrow too at Moirang, Thanga and Ithai.
The protesters were joined by activists of JCILPS, its students’ wing and women’s wing and they were led by JCILPS co-convenor Arjun Telheiba and assistant convenor Ng Dev.
The JCILPS leaders gave brief account of the ongoing popular movement at the different protest sites.
Meanwhile, JCILPS has announced a new schedule for similar protest demonstrations which would be staged at different places on different dates.
Protest demonstrations would be staged at Khagempalli, Kwakeithel, Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi, Sayang, Tera Keithel, Naoremthong, Sangaiprou, Lukram Leirak and Takyel on June 23. It would be Uripok, RIMS Road, Lamphel, Sana Keithel, Lilasing Khongnangkhong, Sangakpham, Salanthong, Lairikyengbam Leikai and Lamlong on June 24; Lamlong, Top Turel Wangma Makha Leikai, Nongmeibung, Porompat and Top Thong Wangma on June 25; Wangkhei Thambalkhong, Khergao, Kongba and Singjamei on June 26; Bamon Leikai, Khongman, Bashikhong and Singjamei Chingamakha Liwa Lambi on June 27 and Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Laishram Leikai, Ningthemcha Karong, Konjeng Leikai and Heinoukhongnembi on June 28.
