IMPHAL, Jun 2: Renowned writer Laishram Somrendra Singh born on July 20, 1925 died this afternoon around 4 at his residence.
Somrendra’s published works includes “Wa ammatta haige telenga (poems, 1962), Mamang Leikai Thambal Shatle (poems, 1974), Khul amgi wari (poems, 1985), Wakchinggi Kabita (Poems, 1999) among others.
Somrendra’s Mamang Leikai Thambal Shatle had received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1975.
