He further disclosed that the main agenda of the meeting was to chalk out strategies for the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly general election.
ational president Amit Shah has agreed to visit the state on August 12, 2016 when he will officially kick off the party’s election campaign for the 2017 Assembly election, according to reliable sources from the BJP state unit.
Meanwhile, vice president in charge of BJP Manipur M Hemanta in a press conference held today at the BJP office here in Imphal said BJP state president K Bhabananda is now in Assam to chalk out strategies with central leaders of the party for success in the 2017 state Assembly election,.
It is time for all party workers to ready themselves to bring a new BJP government in the state, Hemanta, a former minister asserted during the press conference this afternoon.
He claimed election to the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly could be summoned anytime in the state as the state government has failed in several sectors.
Asserting that development has taken a backseat during the 14 years of Congress government in the state, he elaborated the government has failed to provide quality education, proper health facilities and good condition roads.
The number of educated unemployed youth is rapidly increasing every year, he said adding that the government has failed miserably to provide any employment facilities for the youth who have completed their education.
He claimed the Congress government is harping on development to earn money for themselves, compromising quality of works in the process.
This has only resulted in collapse of newly built buildings and projects and cracks appearing in many of the buildings, he asserted citing Ima Markets where cracks appeared after the January earthquake and Thoubal Market building which developed a huge gap as some examples.
Though these buildings are built incurring huge amount of money, they have been rendered useless, he added.
This is not all, and there are several other issues confronting the state which is creating chaos everywhere, he said.
The poor have no faith in the Congress government and the only alternative is the BJP, he claimed.
He said it is an appeal to the workers and leaders of the party to work and realise the slogan “Eradicate Congress from India and Manipur” in the 2017 general election.
He continued under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideology that India cannot develop without developing North East, every union minister is attempting to develop and bring progress the NE states.
Unfortunately, the Congress government in the state has jeopardized every developmental project before it reaches the public, he claimed.
He further alleged the state government of not submitting proper utilization certificates of national projects as it doesn’t want the BJP government in the centre to take credit for the development.
This is why the centre is unable to take up any further developmental programmes in the state, he said.
He continued once the state BJP president returns after his meeting with the central leaders, the party will hold political conferences in district and mandal level.
