NOHIMA, Jul 14 (NEPS): Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang said the ongoing dialogue between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) would not be affected by the unfortunate demise of Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman of the outfit. He, however, expressed his deep shock of his untimely demise at a time when his service and guidance needed the most.
Addressing a press conference at the Assembly Committee Hall on Thursday after the two-day Assembly Session was over, the Chief Minister made it clear that Isak’s unfortunate demise had created vacuum in the State. “Everyone one of us was aggrieved by the demise of Isak,” he said.
Zeliang also asserted that the ongoing talks between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) continued as usual. “I hope they are going to have another round of talks very soon,” he said. “There will be no hampering in the talks.”
When asked whether solution to the complex Naga political issue would be delayed, Zeliang replied in “positive” saying, “I don’t think there will be any delay in finding solution to the Naga political issue.” There were no different minds between Government of India and the Nagaland Government as far as the solution to the Naga political issue was concerned, he pointed out.
The Chief Minister also disclosed his confidence that the NSCN (IM) would be able to fill the gap caused by the untimely demise of Isak.
