IMPHAL, Jul 22: A Division Bench of Justice N Kotiswar and Justice Kh Nobin of High Court of Manipur today fixed July 26 as the date for the final hearing of the criminal petition case filed by former JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan against declaring him as a wanted man today.
The Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice RR Prasad and Justice S Serto transferred the case to the Division Bench of Justice N Kotiswar and Justice Kh Nobin on July 20. Speaking to reporters at Cheirap Court complex, petitioner’s counsel Advocate Khaidem Mani stated the date for final hearing of the case was fixed today.
Mani further said that the police had violated CrPC and Constitutional rights of the petitioner while declaring him as a wanted man. Respondents of the case are Additional Chief Secretary (Home), DGP Manipur, SP Imphal West, Manipur Police PRO and Singjamei police station OC.
It may be mentioned that the wanted tag on Khomdram Ratan was announced on July 2 last after a photograph showing him taking oath from UNLF leader Nongyai by a holding the flag of the outfit went viral on the social media.
