IMPHAL, Dec 10: Union HRD Minister and BJP Manipur election in-charge Prakash Javadekar has accused Chief Minister O Ibobi of following a dangerous divide and rule policy in the State.
Speaking to media persons at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh here today, Prakash Javadekar stated that the Congress Government created seven new districts regardless of whether people wanted them or not even though it could not neutralise economic blockades.
It was a political game aimed at securing victory of Congress party in the 11th Manipur State Legislative election but it would not be fruitful, he asserted.
Whereas the Congress Government was sleeping for the past 15 years, it started empathising with public issues only recently when election is round the corner.
Except for investment of huge amount of money in elections only to be recollected after being elected, the Congress Government has done nothing beneficial for the people, Javadekar said.
None of the promises made by Congress before the last election has been translated into action. The Congress Govt is only good at rhetoric, he further charged.
A number of Union Ministers would come and camp in the State to ensure a landslide victory for BJP in the forthcoming election. BJP is all prepared to take on the ruling Congress party and the party is confident that it would score a dramatic victory.
The State election notification is likely to be announced soon and BJP candidates for all the 60 Assembly constituencies would be announced shortly in phase manner.
Speculating that the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly is likely to be held in the early part of February next year, Prakash Javadekar called upon the people of Manipur to be prepared for scripting a new history of Manipur during the next 90 days. BJP is determined to combat terrorism, black money and corruption. He also appealed to the people of the State to trust BJP to make Manipur a developed and progressive State.
For the all wrongs done by Congress party for the past many years, they ought to apologise to the citizens of the country, Javadekar asserted.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Ksh Bhabananda and State Election Management Committee convenor Th Chaoba were also present at the press meet.
