Thoubal: HRD Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that the 130 days long economic blockade called by the UNC has crippled the lives of the people of Manipur and the State Government is still not attempting to lift the economic blockade.
Prakash Javadekar made the claim in a public meeting of BJP candidate Dr Yumnam Radheshyam of Hiyanglam AC at Langmeidong playground today where he attended as chief guest.
He accused Ibobi of not making attempts to clear the blockade even after the Central Government has provided adequate para military forces.
Accusing Ibobi, he stated that it is the responsibility of the State Government and not the Central Government to tackle issues and added that if BJP is voted to power the economic blockade would be cleared immediately using the paramilitary force and the State force.
He stated that many developmental initiatives and monetary aid provided by the Centre have been misused by the State Government, going directly into their pockets.
Fresh drinking water is not available properly in many parts of the State, jobs are not given based on merits but on bribes, roads in various parts of the State are in bad conditions and all these issues should be solved by the State, he asserted.
He said that when BJP candidate Dr Y Radheshyam is voted to power, all the responsibilities neglected by Ibobi will be covered adding that Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned Rs 22,000 crore for road development in Manipur. He further stated that once the BJP forms the Government, proper road for transportation would be established and a corruption free Government would be formed by BJP.
