NEFIS STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE OBSERVANCE OF ‘DARK DAY’ IN MANIPUR!

285

North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) expresses its solidarity with the observance of Dark Day by International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) across the districts of Manipur. It should be known that on 27th April, 1891 the British Forces had annexed the territory of Manipur and unfurled Union Jack at Kangla Fort, thereby marking the beginning of domination of colonial state over Manipur. In the preceding struggle against British conquest thousands had sacrificed their lives.

NEFIS remembers the martyrs who died fighting the British imperialist forces and draws inspiration from their struggle to create a united movement against the injustices heaped on the region.
