UKHRUL, May 20 : A booklet entitled ‘Brief Introduction to Shirui Kashong Abode of Shirui Lily,’ penned by Philazan Shangh Shimray of Shirui village was presented to Chief Minister N Biren during the inaugural function of the Shirui Lily Festival at Vangayan, Shirui village on May 16.
The young lady is not new to the field of taking Shirui Kashong, the abode of Shirui Lily to the outside world as her previous booklet ‘Shirui at a Glance : Kashong a Queenly Place’ published in 2007 is considered to be one of the first attempts to introduce Shirui village and Shirui Kashong to the uninitiated.
The booklet was received well by Chief Minister N Biren when it was presented to him by the young writer on the opening day of the Shirui Lily Festival.
Significantly it was at her initiative that the first District Level Shirui Lily Week was organised successfully in 2012 and which served as the harbinger of the Shirui Lily Festival.
The book is available at Chitama Enterprises, North AOC, Imphal and Iwui Book Store, Wino Bazar, Ukhrul and Iwui Book Store, Viewland, Ukhrul.
