IMPHAL, May 17 : Cracking the whip in a big way ever since the anti-corruption cell was opened at the initiative of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, at least five Government employees have been suspended from duty while three employees of Imphal Municipal Corporation have been disengaged from their duty which is shop legislation.
Acting on the report filed by the anti-corruption cell, the State Government has placed under suspension Dr O Heramot Singh, Associate Professor and in charge HoD, Department of Radio Diagnosis, JNIMS for illegally charging investigation fees of MRI, CT Scan, X-Ray and Ultra Sound at JNIMS.
The suspension order has been issued by the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare.
Under the same charge an attendant of Radio Diagnosis of JNIMS, N Romesh Singh has also been placed under suspension.
The SP of Imphal East police has also issued an order suspending a Literate Constable (LC) of Heingang police station for taking money in lodging FIR at Heingang police station. The suspended official has been identified as Huirom Dinesh Singh.
Likewise three employees of the Imphal Municipal Corporation have been disengaged from their duty which is shop legislation.
The three L Loken Singh (FA-IMC), M Kunjaraj Singh (FA-IMC) and N Jiban Singh (LDC-IMC) have been suspended on the charge of taking extra money for shop registration.
The Managing Director of MSPDCL has also placed under suspension an LC (JBC) Ksh Suresh Singh, Sugnu sub-division for taking money to activate pre-paid meter at Chairel GP, Sugnu.
The axe also fell on one G Kitty Sharma of Singjamei police station for taking money for the release of an accused person and mess fee at Singjamei police station.
An order to this effect has been issued by the SP of Imphal West police, as per the report submitted by the anti-corruption cell.
A notification to this effect has been issued.
