According to sources, both Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu and N Biren Singh will be “investing efforts” to improve ties between the two neighbouring States. The sources also disclosed that both the leaders may discuss the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) in which BJP and NPF are parts of the alliance.
It can be recalled here that last month Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh had expressed his willingness to meet Nagaland Chief Minister, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu “as soon as possible” in an effort to foster peace and “brotherhood” among the people of Manipur and Nagaland.
The Manipur Chief Minister had expressed this when a 10-member team of Manipuri Cultural Society (MCS), Kohima (Nagaland) met him at his office chamber on April 5.
Manipuri Cultural Society is a body of Manipuris settled in Nagaland. During the meeting, the delegates had invited the Manipur Chief Minister to visit Nagaland to foster “peace and brotherhood” among the people of the two neighbouring States.
Accepting the invitation, N Biren Singh had expressed his willingness to visit Nagaland by road and meet Nagaland Chief Minister, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu as soon as possible.
