IMPHAL, May 7:With an aim to disseminate the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), formerly known as IAY, the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Government of Manipur has highlighted various assistance beneficiaries can avail.
The Department informed that beneficiaries under PMAY-G are to be selected from SEC date afterwhich the names of the selected beneficiaries are to be circulated to all Gram Panchayats, village authorities concerned for verification.
Beneficiary selection method and procedure will be explained to the Pradhans and village authorities during the awareness meeting which would be convened by the Block Development Officers.
15 days will be given for submitting complaints regarding the lists to the BDO concerned who will enquire the same and submit a report to Appellate Committee headed by the DC within 15 days. The Committee will resolve and dispose of the cases within 15 days.
The Department said that the Appellate Department may also receive petitions and applications from applicants who are not in SECC data but claim that they are needy and deserve the benefits as per PMAY-G guidelines. In such case, the Committee may receive recommendation/report from the Gram Sabha, village authority as well. Such claim, report or complaint should be verified by BDO or designated officer concerned. The Committee can further recommend list of such non-SECC claimants which are found genuine after enquiry to Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department.
The selected beneficiary will receive an amount for constructing house wherein the work should be initiated only under the technical supervision of trained and certified masons.
