The Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) has questioned the BJP led coalition government for its failure to establish Highway Protection Force in its 100 day priority programme.

Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhawan today the MPYCC president, Amir Huisen, pointed out that the present Government earlier stated that the state cabinet has taken a decision to establish Highway Protection Force (HPF).

But, unfortunately it failed to find a mention in its 100 days programme, he said and questioned whether the BJP government has sidelined the agenda completely.

He asserted that since the formation of the new Government in the state, attacks have been carried out on convoy of trucks carrying essential commodities along the National Highways.

Moreover, there has been rampant tax collection from the transporters along the highways, he alleged.

Citing the failure of the Government, he posed whether the present Government is under threat from underground groups with regards to the formation of the Highway Protection Force.

E Dayananda, president Inner Constituency Lok Sabha Youth Congress Committee, also termed the failure of the BJP Government to implement Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) and resolved the issues of Churachandpur resulted post introduction of three ILP bills.
