Biswajit inspects Industrial estates, LBI in Chandel, Thoubal districts

IMPHAL, Jun 4 (DIPR):Commerce and Industries Minister Th Biswajit Singh has expressed strong optimism that solving unemployment problem will go a long way in restoring peace in the State. The Minister stated this while inspecting Industrial Estates and Livelihood Business Incubators in Chandel and Thoubal districts yesterday.

Biswajit inspected Chandel Salemthar Village Industrial Estate and Thoubal Kuraopaokpi Industrial Estate and also Livelihood Business Incubators of these two districts. Inspecting the Thoubal Kuraopaokpi Industrial Estate, the Minister stated that the main objective for establishing the Industrial Estate was to generate maximum number of employment and to encourage entreprenuers of the State. The Government will open many such units for giving facilities of workshed to the interested entreprenuers.

As a way to save power and also to preserve the eco-system, Roof Top Solar Plate will be installed at Thoubal Kuraopaokpi Industrial Estate. Most of the programmes being taken up by the Government with the help of Centre is for bringing work culture particularly to the youth of the State.

MLA of Kakching Assembly Constituency, Y Surchandra who was with the Minister in the inspection of Thoubal Kuraopaokpi Industrial Estate said that 90 percent of the construction of the industrial estate has been completed. The amount to carry out the work is Rs 21 crore but Rs 6 crore is yet to be released. State share is only Rs 80 lakh. The MLA appealed for people’s cooperation for the successful and smooth functioning of the Estate.
For workshed of Chandel Salemthar Village Industrial Estate, ground levelling is still going on. As the workshed is being constructing at the hill area, it’s not easily accessible to the people. Further, feasibility of shifting the site will be discussed with the CM and local MLA considering the security point of view, the Minister said.

Pertaining to the Livelihood Business Incubators (LBI), the Central Government has given approval for opening of nine LBI centres in Manipur. In the coming days, the State Government will arrange for imparting training to the staff concerned for full functioning of Livelihood Business Incubators (LBI) at Komlathabi. This steps of the Government will surely help in restoring peace in the State, he added.

Fielding a query from media persons, Th Biswajit said that although repairing of the road from Pallel to Chandel is under National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the State Public Works Department will look into it and hold a meeting with the authority concerned for quality control. He further assured that Pallel Bridge will be renovated.
On the way back to Imphal, the Minister also inspected the District Industrial Centre (DIC) Thoubal.

IFCD Minister Letpao Haokip; MD, MANIDCO and MFICI; OSD, MSME/EDP/KVI; Tech consultant (MFICL); EE (MANIDCO) and Supervisor, Progress Asst & VIO (MSME) accompanied the Minister.
