IMPHAL, Nov 23 : Chief Minister N Biren left Imphal for New Delhi today to hold a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015.
Notably, Congress party has been undertaking a sustained campaign seeking disclosure of the Framework Agreement’s details.
N Biren and Rajnath Singh may hold a meeting tomorrow, informed a source.
Taking serious note of the growing speculations about the possibility of working out a solution to the political dialogue going on between Government of India and NSCN-IM, the State Government convened an all political parties meeting and a memorandum drafting sub-committee was constituted with Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar as chairman.
The sub-committee has already drafted a memorandum which would be submitted to the Prime Minister.
However, Congress party stayed away from all the meetings of the sub-committee pending announcement of NPF’s clear position on the issue of integration of Naga inhabited areas.
It is reported that Chief Minister N Biren may attend a meeting of BJP at Delhi.
