Five arrested in non-local shooting: CM

IMPHAL | Dec 21 : Chief minister, N. Biren today informed that the House that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a non-local yesterday at RIMS.

The chief minister gave the report on the floor of the House during the zero hour and strongly condemned the incident.

He further divulged that the incident was carried out by two unidentified persons.

An FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident and police are carrying investigation in full swing to arrest the culprits, said the CM.

He further assured the House that the culprit will be arrested very soon.

The victim Abhas Malllik, 33, son of Bhramanand Mallik from Argalsasan district, Odisha, was shot near Nityainanda temple RIMS road infront of his rented house. He sustained two bullet injuries on his back and one on his left arm. He was evacuated to the intensive care unit of Shija Hospital.

However, his health condition has reportedly improved today.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be known as no group or individual has claim responsibility for the attack.
