IMPHAL, Feb 17: The 2nd Death Anniversary of Dr. Th. Kishan SDO Kasom Khullen and his two sub-ordinates, Y. Token and A. Rajen, was observed today at Gandhi Ghat, Uripok, Imphal.
The trio was brutally murdered and later abandoned at Lukhrabithong under Senapati district, by cadres of the NSCN-IM on February 17, 2009.
The observation organised by the JAC formed against the killing was graced by H. Nandakumar Sarma vice chancellor, Manipur University, S. Tikendrajit Singh, Chairman JAC and A. Syam Sharma, Padmashree, as the chief guest, guest of honour and president of the function.
Speaking during the occasion, Syam Sharma, Padmashree said that the brutality of the manner of how the three were murdered cannot be expressed in words. He said that the supreme sacrifice made by the three for the society and state should not be forgotten adding the people of the state should be proud of having such individuals.
In his chief guest speech, H. Nandakumar Sarma, mentioned that the sacrifice made by the three individuals will not go in vain. He asked the youths and students of the state to remember and honour the courage and contributions of the trio.
The convener of the JAC against the triple murder, S. Tikendrajit has termed the state Government as `weak and unjust` for its failure to probe former DC, Ukhrul, Pankajkumar Pal, whom the JAC has alleged to be involved in the conspiracy of killing the trio, despite a case against the former DC was lodge by Dr. Kishan`™s father. The full hearing of the case will be held on February 18.
Besides paying rich floral tribute, poem recitation dedicated to the deceased etc marked the observation.
