IMPHAL, April 15: Major General CA Krishnan, AVSM, IGAR(S) alongwith Mrs Sandhya Krishnan, President ARWWA, visited Carmel Jyoti Orphanage and Integrated Women and children development Centre, Imphal on 15 Apr 11. The IGAR (South) and President ARWWA interacted with the inmates of both these institutions. On behalf of the Assam Rifles the inmates were presented with books, school uniforms, sports and recreation items and Solar Water heaters. Meanwhile, another 23rd Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) constructed Water Tanks of 8000 ltrs each capacity under Assam Rifles Military Civic Action Programme at Shangshak Khullen, Shangshak Phunghon, Leishi and Koushou village and handed over the same to village authorities of respective villages. The populace of the above villages and village authorities appreciated the sincere efforts of the Assam Rifles by carrying out such useful projects.
The Battalion also distributed Solar Lights under Assam Rifles Military Civic Action Programme to Litan, Leigangching, New Kennan, Semasong, Seijang, Nungdam Kuki, Nungdam Tangkhul and Tumukhong villages.
