IMPHAL, July 14: The centre is in serious mood to accelerate the completion of various projects undertaken in some states including Manipur under the Prime Minister package so as to meet the stipulated deadlines.
According to a reliable official source, the PMO as a part of intensifying the monitoring of the schemes and projects in various states under the PM package and with the main objective of quickening the pace, has been conducting meetings at various levels with officials of the concerned state governments including Manipur.
In this regard, the PMO has summoned the state Governor Gurbacharan Jagat for another round of meeting with its officials and other head of states to review the various PM package projects and programmes undergoing in various states tomorrow, added the source.
However, it may be added that the PMO had expressed its satisfaction over the pace of work and the progress reports submitted by the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during a review meeting held on July 8 at the PMO regarding the various projects being undertaken in the state including Capitol Project, High Court complex and City Convention centre at Chingmeirong, Cultural Complex at Palace Gate, Imphal, Imphal Jiri Rail line and Thoubal Multi purpose project
Furthermore, according to the source, the Governor, prior to his departure for the national capital, held a meeting with the Chief Minister at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday morning and collected all necessary official information on the progress of the projects under the Prime Minister package.
The Governor left Imphal yesterday morning carrying with him documents on the progress of the ongoing projects.
In the meantime, Manipur chief secretary DS Poonia also left the state capital this afternoon to assist the Governor at the PMO meeting tomorrow and remainder of his programmes in the national capital.
Gurbacharan Jagat is also scheduled to attend other central ministry level meetings till July 17, added the source.
According to an official source, DS Poonia, before leaving the state capital this afternoon, left an official order notifying that the senior most principal secretary available in the state during his absence will dispose any urgent administrative matters that cannot wait for his arrival.
The official intimation of the chief secretary further mentioned that, the case that require his permission as the competent financial authority and/or as the state vigilance commissioner, shall however, await his return from the tour.
The official order has also mentioned that all cases pertaining to cadre clearance for IAS officers of Manipur part of MT cadres and release of IAS officers on central/inter state deputation should wait for his return from the national capital and that any officers who wish to proceed with any official tours outside the state should consult him over the telephone before the submission of their tour programmes to the chief in charge, added the source.
