MLA Mangi welcomes union of militant groups

IMPHAL, July 14: A one-day open discussion on the topic “Preservation of Peace and Harmony in Adjoining Areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur” was organized today by United Committee Manipur (UCM) at Torbung Community Hall, Churachandpur.
N Mangi, Kumbi MLA, Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, president UCM, Manga Vaiphei, Henglep MLA M Sanahanbi, member Ngangkhalawai Zilla Parishad, and Ch Sanahanbi, Pradhan Torbung, Gram Panchayat were the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Former member of Manipur Human Rights Commission, Lt Col (retired) RK Rajendra, Editor of Freedom, RK Ranendrajit, secretary (external affairs) of UCM, Ema Nganbi Leima, and president of Kuki Women’s Organization Manipur, Rose Mangsi Haokip were the special talkers at the one-day discussion programme.
Condemning the Naga Crusaders for reportedly serving quit notice to some community, MLA Mangi appealed to the people to stand united against such communal forces. He also welcomed the union of seven different UG groups of the state terming it as a precursor to the peace process.
Yumnamcha Dilipkumar decried the divisive policy of the Indian government calling it as a tactic to disintegrate the hill-valley unity.He called for people’s support and unity towards safeguarding the territorial integrity of the state.
MLA Manga stressed on maintaining hill-valley unity which is very much in need for a culturally diverse state like Manipur.
