IMPHAL Sept 12: With mission a to elevate and improve the quality of elementary education scenario in the state, the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi in collaboration with the State Sharva Shiksha Abhiyan organized a State level Resource Group meeting in the conference hall of Education (S) located at Lamphel today as part of the initial undertaking which is to be implemented in the state under the former’s Distance Education Programme/SSA.
The State level Resource Group meeting chaired by Associate Prof. R.P. Singh, IGNOU New Delhi was attended by educationist, officials of the department concerned of the government and media experts of the state.
While addressing the meeting, R.P. Singh elaborated and gave a detail account on the scheme which is a centrally sponsored undertaking of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and has been successfully implemented in other parts of the country.
The objectives of the scheme is mainly to harness and impart adequate technical know how to all the teachers falls under the elementary teaching in order to improve the methods employed in their teaching process.
The scheme is to be implemented in the state for the first time.
