IMPHAL, December 29: Representatives of three organisations placed their views at the public hearing of the District reorganization committee today.
Representatives of Khonglung Kabui part-II village of Senapati district, Liangmei Naga Council, Tamei, Tamenglong district and United Voluntary Organisation, Oinam, Senapati gave their version to chief secretary, DS Poonia, who is chairperson of the District Reorganisation Committee.
Speaking to mediaperson after their meeting with the chief secretary, representatives of Khonglung village said they are against inclusion of their village under Sadar Hills jurisdiction.
Stating Khonglung was once a village under Tamenglong before Senapati district was created, the representatives maintained that the villager neither wanted to remain under Senapati district nor fall under the jurisdiction of a new district but want to stay under the jurisdiction of Tamenglong district.
Another representative of the Liangmei Naga Council while speaking to mediaperson said a Liangmei village currently under Senapati district do not want to fall under the jurisdiction of Sadar Hills. Villagers wanted to stay in their village under Tamenglong jurisdiction, the representative said.
Representatives of the United Voluntary Organisation also placed their views to the district reorganisation committee today but media persons could not get their versions.
