IMPHAL,January 19: The UNLF said the certain Indian agencies have been waging a propaganda war against the outfit but nothing substantive can be gained from it.
A press statement by senior publicity officer KshYoiheiba stated that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which was instituted to quell the Kasmir revolution has stated that the UNLF is extorting exorbitant sums from the public. The designs of the NIA to show the outfit as an extortionist outfit will not hold water.
The UNLF while waging the war for independence has also been trying to free the public from the economic arrest by Indian agencies.
The NIA is trying to root out entrepreneurship and self reliance of the public. The NIA will not gain anything by trying to link the outfit as an investor of the AEGIS company, which is manufacturing quality fruit juices for export to other countries and domestic distribution. It is a secret agenda of the NIA to close down the said industry, the release concluded.
