IMPHAL, January 20: A team of 35 AR apprehended 18 Myanmarese citizens during operation at Khaikhual in Chandel district today. The infiltrators who have landed in their custody are all residents of Langtang in Tonjang of Myanmar and were identified as Khamkanmamang, 26, Khumlanka, 23, Paolinku, 35, Goushanthang, Yanglinopao, 37, Yangkhenkhap, 35, Hamkhpao, 25, Paolauongmung, 27, Yangkhenkhup, 20, Thangngung, 43, Paosnvthan, 16, Thanglamlen, 44, Hanglimung, 42, Chimkhanthoung, 30, Thangdoukan, 34, Paqsuauliankap, 21, Paosuankhup, 45 and Paolantoung, 15. They have reportedly been handed over to Churachanpur police station.
In another incident, a team of 23 AR seized 200 litres of illicit liquor and three kilograms of raw material used in its manufacture at Mahadev Camp while the items were being transported in an auto-rickshaw yesterday. Three individuals, the driver of the vehicle-Md Hassan of Yairipok Changam Dabi and Phanjaobam Nanao and Sagolshem Romen of Andro Torongthel Leikai during the operation. They have been reportedly handed over to Litan police station.
