IMPHAL, February 14: RPF publicity secretary T Leisemba greets the public on the eve of Lui Ngai Ni , the seed sowing festival of the Nagas. It states that the festival is celebrated by the different Naga tribes of and has historical relevance with other different communities including the Meiteis. Mentioning the historical aspects, it said that the Umang Lai Harouba has significant association with the festival as the Tankhul characters comes into play.
Stating that the resources of the state have seemingly dried up and the customs and folklore have started to disappear, the present economic condition of the public seems entirely dependent on outside help and we need to introspect how such circumstances have come about. The need to make corrective changes is the need of the hour and work for an self reliant nation.It mentions that the message of the Lui Ngai Ni festival is to work for prosperity, peace and self reliance and all should carry forward the ethos.
