IMPHAL, Feb 15: Naga civil bodies today staged a sit-in-protest at Senapati Bazar today for the unscathed release of Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, head of foreign affairs, (NSCN-IM) who was arrested on September 27 after he landed at Kathmandu’s International Airport while flying in from Bangkok to attend Peace talks between GOI and NSCN IM scheduled on 29th September 2010 in New Delhi, in connection with procuring of arms and waging war against the country.

A press statement has informed that the Naga are protesting against the GOI for violating cease-fire agreement and for being insincere to an extensive ploy of halting Anthony Ningkhan Shimray from receiving fair trail.

The consortium of United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union (NWU), All Naga Student Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and Naga People’s Movement for Human Right (NPMHR) appeal all the Nagas from different walks of life and organizations to organized public or community meetings, rallies, protests or prayer groups for his unconditional release, the release added.
