IMPHAL, Feb 23: The Maring Students’ Union has announced that it will boycott the ensuing HSLCE beginning tomorrow to protest BoSEM’s decision to bar several candidates enrolled in many hill districts from appearing in the examinations.
In a press release issued by its president, the union stated that it was shocked to learn about the decision made by the board in spite of the publication of their registration numbers and eligibility statements as per the requirement set by the board.
It warned that invigilators or officials who fail to cooperate with their demand to abstain from participating in the examinations should bear the consequences by themselves.
The denial of the chance to the students to appear in the examinations is a gross violation of their human rights, it added.
