IMPHAL, May 11: The state cabinet has today decided to place the ordinance relating to the appointment of Parliamentary Secretaries in the Monsoon session of the state assembly.
It may be recalled here that, the Parliamentary Secretary ordinance was returned by the state Governor Gurbachan Jagat for reconsideration.
The Governor’s observations were minutely discussed today afternoon by the cabinet meeting held at the conference hall of the Chief Minister’s secretariat.
The proposal for parliamentary secretaries was mooted to smoothen hurt feelings among the congress MLAs who did not find a berth in the Okram Ibobi led ministry.
However, discussion on the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act and education policy was deferred.
The cabinet also decided to award another Rs 1 lakh to candidates who have passed the Mains examination of the Union Civil Services examination over and above the 1 lakh given to candidates who are able to cross premiliminary examination. The amount will be same for those who are able to pass IFS. NDA and CDS examinations, the sources add.
