KANGPOKPI, June 1: Kangpokpi Police seized 600 litres of local made liquor this morning at around 5 am from Keithelmanbi and Kalapahar area.
According to a police statement, the liquor were seized from the unauthorized possession of Mema, 45, Chaobi, 43, Ganga, 40 of Sekmai and Sita Khongsai, 42 wife of Thanglal Khongsai of Kangpokpi.
The first three women from Sekmai were carrying the liquor on a Senapati bound bus to be supplied at Kalapahar.
Sita and her husband were carrying the seized liquor in their Maruti 800 bearing Regd Number ML058-0744.
They supply liquor in an around IT Kangpokpi, the statement further said.
The police along with the local youth union, women organisation and the town committee later destroyed the seized liquor.
