IMPHAL, June 25: Three vehicles were damaged during a grenade explosion at the residence of a special contractor Okram Megha, 54 son of (L) Okram Nodya of Khongman Okram Chuthek at around 10:55pm last night.
The vehicles include a Maruti Gypsy (blue in colour) bearing regd no MN 1K 8347, Maruti Van (cream in colour) bearing regd no MN 1A 7463 and a Royal Enfield motorbike (red in colour) bearing regd no MN 01A 2719.
The windshield of the gypsy; the rear and both sides’ windshields of the Van were damaged during the explosion while the rear tire of the motorcycle was also damaged by splinters.
Some window panes of the house were also damaged during the explosion.
Speaking to media persons, Megha said he heard a loud explosion while he was about 50 metres away from his house as he was returning home in his car.
When he reached home he found that there was an explosion at his courtyard.
He said he had received threats some time back from a militant outfit.
He appealed all concerned not to repeat such terrorizing acts in the future.
Meanwhile, it may be mentioned that there was another grenade attack at the residence of the contractor some time back.
