IMPHAL, Sep 15: Following a meeting held today, the Hill Area Committee (HAC) has clarified on the news of a former Minister blaming the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) for the impending development in the hill Areas which was published in a local daily on September 12.
In the clarification, the Deputy Secretary, HAC, Manipur Legislative Assembly has stated that the irresponsible statement of the former Minister was noted seriously and termed it as very unfortunate and uncalled for. It further stated that the HAC being a Mini House of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is empowered to take appropriate actions is a baseless comment and careless utterance and the HAC is working whole heartedly for the betterment and development of the Autonomous District Councils, Manipur.
