 Assam Police yesterday questioned a local journalist for his alleged involvement in the case. Assam Chief Minister also termed the role of the journalist as unethical. Police also issued notice to a private news channel to submit the raw footage of the incident that !ired on 9th July. The victim of the molestation case met the Chief Minister and she was assured of necessary help.

%pAIn Assam, the total number of arrests in the molestation case has now gone up to 12. Assam police last night arrested 5 persons.Official sources said that 3 identified person involved in the molestation case including the main culprit are still absconding. The Special Task Force formed to investigate the case asked all the police stations of the state to remain alert. They also sought help from neighbouring states. Additional Chief Secretary Mrs.Amily Choudhury has already started investigation into the matter. She is likely to submit her report by 28th of this month.

Meanwhile, All India Mahila Congress urged the Chief Minister to take action against an editor-in-charge of a private news channel for tweeting against women .Talking to newsmen in Guwahati yesterday, Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress Punam Rani Wangkhem also asked Gogoi to take action against a reporter of the same channel for his alleged involvement in the case.
Our correspondent reports that the Assam Police has adopted all possible means to nab all the culprits. The Special Task Force formed to investigate the case issued instruction to all the police stations to remain alert. The Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi re- assured that all persons involved in the molestation case will be arrested soon. Additional Chief Secretary Amily Choudhury has already started investigation into the matter and likely to submit report by 28th of this month.
