IMPHAL, July 26: The government PDS items are not distributed equally to the general public under Oinam Nagar Panchayat, said Oinam Ibochouba Singh, president of Oinam Block Congress Committee at a press conference held at Manipur press club today.
He further said that under Oinam Nagar Panchayat there are nine wards. In this nine wards the amount of distribution of PDA items are different for each wards.
He said that according to DCO’s instruction, 30-35 Kg rice per-month should be distributed to BPL and AY card holders. But in contrary to DCO’s instruction, in some areas beneficiaries with BPL cards were distributed 20 kg of rice each and AL card holders are distributed 25 kg of rice each.
An agent of polling No. 25 distributed 10/15 kg of rice but a sub-agent of the same polling number distributed 20/25 kg of rice.
He further urged the higher authorities to find out the irregularities in the distribution system of PDA items and punish the culprits according to the book.
Vice-president of Oinam Block Congress Committee, Waikhom David also urged the authorities to check the irregularities in distribution of SK oil under Oinam Nagar Panchayat.
